Artist's Comments

Every year, here in the Sierra Nevada foothills, we hold Sierra Art Trails, a 3 day event featuring a tour of artist open studios. Around 100 artist participate, from all disciplines: painters, photographers, sculptors, potters, jewelry makers, etc. A catalog is published with previews of the participating artists work, maps to their locations , articles concerning points of interest, history of the area and the creative movements that have made this location home. A different artist is selected each year to provide the cover art for this catalog. I was selected in 2019 and I painted this original piece for that purpose. My goal was to represent the annual experience metaphorically.
