Working from a live model became a dangerous undertaking during the Covid-19 pandemic, but enterprising minds come up with solutions to obstacles. In this case Zoom broadcasts were a great way to go. I began drawing from live models with a group out of London, put together and broadcast by British drawing teacher, Adrian Dutton. While there are definitely drawbacks to working from a live model through a video broadcast, one of the great bonuses is that the model can be anywhere, as long as they have a cell phone, digital tablet or camera to broadcast with. We've worked with models located all over the world. This painting was based on one of the 15 minute poses I did of model "Yuka," who lives in Germany.
