Artist's Comments

Portrait Award winner in the Society of West-Coast Artists 68th Annual Membership show and 1st Place Award winner in the 2018 local San Joaquin Valley Chapter Membership Show, I started this one working from the live model at one of our local Yosemite Western Artists Friday live model sessions. This young lady has been modeling for us since she was a child. In fact, she was so grown up since the last time she modeled for us, I didn't recognize it was her, until I was going through some old paintings and noticed the resemblance. I finished the painting, back in my studio, working from photos I'd taken, during the live session. She's really very nice, but the pose just spoke to me of attitude.
